Charlie and Abby cooking dinner at Swain - 2012 By KOJI
Last night, I got to have dinner at home with a dozen friends who I have connected with through volunteerism over the years. The group that assembled was made up of people in AmeriCorps, theater, education, law, fiber arts, photography, accounting, communications, fashion, and even a college-drop-out-musician like me. I love being around people who are engaged with their work and their community. It’s illuminating and inspiring to hear their perspectives on anything and everything.
That sort of energy feels a lot like being a show. It’s life giving and I guess I’m writing to say that if you need momentum, you can find it in your friends. You can find it in serving others. So gather—whether at a show, a volunteer project, or in your home for dinner. Together, there is movement.
