Last week, I got to visit the hometown of one my biggest influences, Otis Redding. This flick was taken by the Ocmulgee River in Macon, GA where they erected this statue to honor their hometown hero. It’s crazy to think that years ago, a little town called Macon was a hot bed for soul music. It’s a lot like how there are small towns that are mini-meccas for the punk/hardcore/diy scene I’m a part of—cultural outposts, if you will. Anyway, rep your heroes and your home hard. They make us who we are. -K
