Since 2005, Resolve has advocated on behalf of those suffering at the hands of the ruthless Lord’s Resistance Army, a rebel group responsible for one of the world’s longest and most ignored wars, taking place in central and eastern Africa. The LRA abducts thousands of children, forcing them to become child soldiers and sex slaves in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and surrounding countries. This war has been largely ignored by the international community for over two decades.
The compassionate team at Resolve spends their time facilitating nationwide campaigns to motivate political leaders to make ending the LRA crisis a genuine priority and to guide their efforts in policy making.
In 2009, Resolve teamed with fellow advocacy organizations Invisible Children and the Enough Project to present “Lobby Days”, the largest advocacy event in American history focused on African matters. Due to the work of Lobby Days and the follow up event “The Hometown Shakedown”, the organizations helped push through the “Lord’s Resistance Army Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act”, a landmark and historic bill that calls for Obama’s administration to come up with a comprehensive plan to end the atrocities in the area.
To continue to apply direct pressure on policy makers, Resolve will take to the road this spring on THE RESOLVE TOUR, accompanied by one of the most powerful voices in music today, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania artist and activist Koji. The six-week tour of the United States will take place in March and April of 2011. The presentation will be a powerful combination of music, storytelling, media, and visual art, with an emphasis on empowerment to create change and building community. Following each event will be a workshop for those interested in getting further involved to offer their support in a concrete and effective manner.
Nate Dorough at Phantom Creative Group, who represents Koji, will be booking the tour. We are seeking hosts for events who are passionate about both supporting art and helping humanity. Target venues will range from schools to legitimate small music venues, and from local art galleries and libraries to intimate house shows.
Those interested in hosting THE RESOLVE TOUR are encouraged to get in touch with Nate at email@example.com
